Bitter Root drops their latest variant cover

Remember the Bitter Root crew promised to drop some dope variant covers for their new arc and they are not disappointing the fans at all.

David Walker who is one of the co-writers of Bitter Root made an announcement via his Facebook that the future variant covers for Bitter Root will be a reflection of Black culture. Currently, there is a Bitter Root variant going for $20 as it pays tribute to Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing.

Yesterday, David Walker reposted a photo from the artist Chris Visions and the art he reposted was breathtaking. Chris Visions posted to his Instagram his variant cover work for Bitter Root which is an ode to Prince’s Purple Rain. Yup, you read that right and it’s straight fire.

Variant covers usually sell quickly, too. A single issue can have multiple variant covers and depending on where you live, you might not even have access to all the available covers that were released. However, with Bitter Root, these covers are destined to be valuable in more ways than one. With Bitter Root soon to hit the big screen, these covers will quickly be collectibles especially amongst fans of Black superheroes characters.

This will also make a great gift to the Prince fans in your life. Prince fans love anything with him or his likeness in it. You can gift this to any Prince fan and I am sure they will cherish it forever. For those that don’t recall, before Prince’s death there where Purple Rain comic books on Amazon by the late, great Dwayne McDuffie. Before his death, you were able to find those comics for under $20. Now, you would be lucky to find them under $100. I regret not buying them when I saw them and had the money. Not I just sit in my room and cry all the time. Not because they are valuable (because if I bought them I wouldn’t have sold them) but it would have been a great addition to have as a celebration of Black culture.
