Finally there is an aluminum-free deodorant that doesn’t require you to detox your pits

I’ll be honest with you. Ever since pregnancy, my skin and body have changed drastically and some days it’s hard to recognize myself because of the things I used to do I can no longer do or use. Take for instance my deodorant for example. Before I got pregnant, I was using the same name-brand deodorant I’ve been using for years. Granted, I knew my underarms were sensitive because when I was younger, certain deodorants used me to make my underarms break out and cause them to boil ( i know, eww). But the deodorant I was using didn’t cause me any issues pre-pregnancy. I also need to note that I sweat a lot—it doesn’t help that I have a lot of hair either.

But once I was pregnant, products I relied on seem to stop working for me. Cleansers and beauty products that were part of my normal beauty routine just stopped working. However, postpartum really changed my skin. All the beauty and hygiene products I had grown to love over the years had turned on me. Sure, a cleanser can be replaced but my deodorant? I was not prepared for my deodorant to suddenly check-out on me.

For the first week or so after my c-section, I was showering mostly with gentle soaps but I wasn’t using deodorant because I wasn’t moving much and I was trying to nurse so I didn’t want to irritate her with fragrances and perfumes. But after a week or so, I started using deodorant again and noticed my armpits would hurt the following day and would have boils. I thought at first, maybe it was the detergent from my clothes or something but it turned out to be my deodorant. So, I started searching for more natural deodorants that will not make me funky and work just as well as a regular deodorant.

I tried the same brand I was already using but aluminum-free. It smelled really pretty when I applied it but man, it wore off quickly. It barely lasted 3 hours. I tried a few others, too. But I was told I need to go through a stank period and detox the aluminum out of my body for it to work and those natural deodorants were expensive! I think $8.00 is a lot for deodorant let alone $15. I don’t want to go through a stinking phase just to smell good. I want to transition to natural deodorant that won’t make me feel insecure as I go about my day running with a baby.

I aired my frustrations on social media and with my friends and luckily enough for me, Hint Water sent me their newly launched aluminum-free deodorant. I know what you are thinking, the water company right? Well, that is right, the delicious water company is now in the beauty game and I think they are on to something.

The scent they are launching is lemon and eucalyptus and I must say it makes you smell really clean. I’ve been using it for a week now and it holds throughout the day. It has even helped subside my swollen armpits from my previous deodorant. My armpits are happy and I didn’t have to stink for a week to detox. In this case, drinking water and using a natural deodorant was all the detox I needed!

The best part of all is the Hint Deodorant is retailing for $5.99. So I don’t have to spend more than I usually do on deodorant and so far, my skin absolutely loves it. I finally found an aluminum-free deodorant where I don’t have to stink for two weeks for it to work. I’m sure my baby and man will appreciate that very much.
