Back in the (and by that I mean the 1990’s), R&B was different and it seemed like everyone had their own personal style. One singer in particular that stood out from the rest (and took up a lot of space on my bedroom wall) was Aaliyah. She was beautiful and different in her own right which started the sexy tom-boy trend that included light makeup, baggy jeans and tight shirts. Aaliyah combined high-end fashion with street fashion. Her makeup looks never overshadowed her features. She always had defined clean eyebrows, mascara and lip gloss. I remember reading a magazine and she stated she would wear sew-ins after she pressed her hair to prevent breakage and rest her hair. Aaliyah’s style is classic, urban and beautiful- she was beyond FAB, she was almost unreal. Which is your favorite look?
