This Is How I’m Treating My Postpartum Dry, Flakey Skin
Having dry skin bums me out a lot. Most of the skincare products there are available are suited for normal or oily skin types by default. To make matters worse, I am dealing with postpartum skin issues so the beauty routine I had before I was pregnant just doesn’t work anymore. I have more hyperpigmentation than ever and my skin sometimes gets extra sensitive and even after I cleanse it, it still doesn’t always feel clean.
As you can imagine, this can be frustrating especially when you are on a mission to repair your skin. Shoot, I want my skin to look like glass, too! Now that everyone is practicing ( hopefully) social distancing, I want to dedicate more time to improving my skin.
For the longest, I’ve been curious about trying Michael Todd Beauty’s skincare devices. Initially, I was apprehensive about any skincare devices because I was worried that it would irritate my skin further. My skin is already dry and the thought of something scraping my face just petrified me!
Michael Todd Beauty gifted me the Soniclear Petite Cleansing Brush System and I was ready to give it a spin. I recently got a new cleanser from Good Beaute so I was ready to try it with the MTB brush with the hope that I will have a cleaner face. The gel cleanser I am using has vitamins A, C, and E in it. The cleanser’s ingredients promise to help brighten my skin and reduce dark spots and I have a lot of hormonal-induced dark spots postpartum. The Michael Todd Beauty Soniclear Petite Cleansing Brush is described as a skincare device that is will gently but effectively cleanse and exfoliate my skin. It’s also waterproof so I can cleanse my face and get a deep exfoliating clean while I am in the shower!
Ok, so I was ready to try it, scared because I was worried my skin would freak out however I remained optimistic.
Look at my face!
I was prepared for my face to feel extra dry and tight but it didn’t. I love how gentle and soft the Michael Todd Soniclear is on my skin. Having dry skin is such a bummer because my skin feels so flakey and irritated when it feels stripped of hydration. But using the Michael Todd Soniclear made my skin feel refreshed and clean. And not the kind of dried-out clean but the good kind of clean. My skin didn’t feel like I wearing a papier-mâché mask and it had a radiant glow.
So, how do dry skin folks cleanse their face while being active in treating it?
Find a good cleanser that gently exfoliates and brightens.
Use the Michael Todd Soniclear Petite Cleaning Brush System to get all into those nasty, dry pores and crevices.
Use a vitamin c serum after you cleanse to seal in all that natural glow
And finally, use SPF 30+, even if you don’t go outside, wear it anyway!
