Bazaar’s Guide to Black Girl Beauty
Harper’s Bazaar wrote an interesting article about black beauty and maintenance and while it’s refreshing to know that a mainstream and posh magazine took the time out to share beauty tips, I couldn’t help but feel a smidge slighted. I’m not sure why, but getting my hair dyed at an upscale
grossly overpriced , 5th Ave hair salon just doesn’t appeal to me.
Perhaps I’m not refined enough but that’s OK. I do fine with Shea butter, oils and Noxema.
Here’s the article:
Finding the right person to care for your natural curls, or a makeup artist that knows the ins and outs of multi-dimensional skin tones can be a challenge, without the help of an insider who knows, of course. That’s why we polled some of the most stylish ladies of color to divulge their beauty secrets— from their favorite salon for a quick blowout to the must-have products they stock at home. Plus, check out Bazaar’s editors’ little beauty black book.
