The Magical Girls Festival is Coming to Brooklyn

The largest convention celebrating magical girls like ‘Sailor Moon’ is happening in Brooklyn, NY this month

If you have been searching for an event to celebrate everything nerdy, then you need to hurry and get tickets to the most enchanting event happening this month. The Magical Girls Festival is a free day-long celebration of magical girls like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Winx Club, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, Tokyo Mew Mew, Madoka Magica, PreCure, and more! Since its inaugural event last year, the Magical Girls Festival has quickly become the largest fan-organized event for magical girls in the United States.

This year’s event will be at Brooklyn’s Japan Village on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025. Fans can expect over 50 vendors, a maid café where attendees can create magical girl wands, and programming including trivia games and a magical girls cosplay meetup.  There will also be a Miraculous Ladybug-themed writing workshop led by Mad Cave Studios author and comic book writer Carrie Harris (author of Miraculous Chibi Vol. 1).

So what can magical girls expect this year? Well, one thing ticket holders can expect is a lineup of . There will also be activities like a magical girl wand workshop with the Machi Mahou Maid Café, Sailor Senshi and [Cardcaptor] Sakura origami classes  with Taro’s Origami.

Terri Hawkes, the iconic voice actress who voiced “Serena/Sailor Moon” in the original English dub of Sailor Moon, will also make a special appearance at the Magical Girls Festival for autographs, photos, and a spotlight panel.

Hawkes is also known for her work as Toast and Tempbot in Bee and PuppyCat, Baby Hugs Bear in Care Bears, Mrs. Hein in Lady Ada’s Secret Society, and more.
