Easy As ABC! Quinta Gets New Show on Network

The fabulous Quinta Brunson of  A Black Lady Sketch Show fame is now about to have her own TV show.

What’s a group of people heavily spoken of during COVID climate that’s always been underserved, underpaid, and misunderstood? Teachers. Guess who wants to do about teachers? (I will not give you a hint, shame on you!)

ABC picked up the untitled project after success with the pilot, which beat out many others in a fierce competition. The plot revolves around a group of teachers with an absolute love for their craft. The catch? They’re working at one of the worst public schools in the country. Can the love of teaching stand tall against the shitty methods of a school district bound to fail students? Seems we shall find out.

The show’s theme hits right on the nose as this country is reeling with how COVID has affected education. Remote learning; inept plans for school safety; coronavirus resurge in schools that opened too early; the duties of teachers has increased horrifically without their safety being regarded. Perhaps such a show elevates the misunderstandings and pressures society puts on our education system.

Quinta will be the writer, creator, and executive producer of the show. along with Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker.

This only adds to Brunson’s impressive resume. A Black Lady Sketch Show will soon have a second season. Her voice will be featured as Alex in Magical Girl Friendship Squad. Also, all of her original content has over 1 billion views across the Big Four (Insta, FB, Twitter, & Youtube). That equals a huge powerhouse in a tiny frame.

Here’s hoping to a lesson we won’t forget any time soon.
