Everything you need to know about the PlayStation 5

 The PS5 is going to be a powerhouse of gaming. New titles are releasing alongside this console, plus its eco-friendly! Wow, Sony seems to be trying to set the standard for the next generation of consoles.

Specs

Here are a few confirmed specs for the PS5:

• 4K Blu-ray player – which is about time! We haven’t been able to watch DVDs on PlayStation consoles since PS3!
• VR capabilities – there are even hints at PS VR second-gen technology 
• 3D Audio – meaning the sound will be heard clearer in three-dimensional spaces. This will be amplified by a custom Radeon Navi graphics card
• Backward Compatibility – Cross-Generation Gameplay means games can be played between PS4 & PS5. Plus games started on the PS4 can be completed on the Ps5 because it runs on the same tech
• Solid State Harddrive – this is going to help with the load times and games running seamlessly

This tweet shows how much faster The Amazing Spiderman boots up. 

There are new features for the controller as well. Therefore, the new PS5 controller is not Dualshock like the Ps4. 

• Haptic Feedback – this is how gamers will to feel different textures in the game like gravel or grass. Haptic feedback replaces the rumble
• Adaptive Triggers – this feature allows gamers to feel the tactile feedback of a terrain change or drawing a bow and arrow

PS5’s new features look like it could include more persons with disabilities. And the console is eco-friendly. There is an energy-efficient feature. And if one million users enable this feature the PS5 could conserve enough energy to power 1,000 homes.

Knowing the specs is cool. But let’s be honest, it is the games that are going to win us over. We know the PS5 will provide 4k and immersive gameplay. However, all of that doesn’t matter if the games are weak. Call of Duty, GTA, and 2K games are regular games that will release on the PS5. These games will be upping their graphics to coincide with the specs of the new-gen. Now for the juicy stuff: 

Games Suited for the PS5

Godfall is a PS5 launch title. It has a creation between devs from God of War and Borderlands. The game contains a solo and co-op campaign. Play this fantasy RPG is multiplayer with up to three players. It is a loot driven game with three classes of fighters from which to choose. The main style of this game is third-person real-time mele close combat; no official gameplay is available. Godfall may be released during the 2020 holidays, alongside the PS5.   

Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok may be the next title in the Assasins Creed franchise. Ragnarok is a Norse mythological apocalypse taking place during the 8th and the 11th century. Which is 1,000 years after Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The title appears on Gamestop Italy’s page as early as Jan 9th. AC: Ragnarok could be released in the fall.

Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is coming soon. With the first one being a hit on PS4 why wouldn’t we get a second one? Horizon Zero Dawn is an RPG featuring Aloy, a hunter trying to discover her past in a world overrun by mechanical animals. There is no gameplay or release date available. 

Cyberpunk 2077 one of the most anticipated RPGs based in a futuristic dystopian California. This title forged CD Projekt Red, the same studio behind The Witcher has detailed customizations for your character, V, a mercenary looking for the key to immortality. Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release April 16, 2020. 

Ghost of Tsushima, an action-adventure game by studio Sucker Punch, allows gamers to take the place as a samurai right at the Mongolian invasion of Japan. The music fits the period. It utilizes authentic Japanese instruments from the 1274 CE period.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action-adventure game by Daedalic Entertainment. This game takes place after Gollum acquires the ring and before his adventures in the book, reported by Hollywood Reporter Gollum is set to release in 2021 along with The Lord of Rings television series. 

Honorable Mentions

A few other games that will look amazing on the PS5 are, Spiderman 2, God of War II, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Uncharted 5, Elder Scrolls VI, 

PS5 is set to release in 2020 around November. I don’t think there will be any amazing bundles for this new console. Maybe a few bundles which include some of the hottest PlayStation games. The price hasn’t been released but it is said to release at a Suggested Retail Price or as Mark Cerny, “…that will be appealing to gamers…” TBH, that could be anywhere from $400 to $1000. The gaming industry seems to think we’ll buy anything…which we might but that’s not the point! Give us a good price so we can then turn around and buy the PS VR2.
