Giovanni has been making her mark in fashion a long time in Philly

Oh how I love Philly. Philly is like New York City and Chicago smashed together. The food, the music and the culture makes Philadelphia one of my favorite places to be when I’m traveling. You’ve probably heard me speak about my beautiful friend Giovanni a few times on Fabulize but I’ve never truly told you how incredible dope she is. First of all, she is a stylist and model and we got acquainted on a fashion story set in New Jersey. We exchanged contacts and just kept in touch. Now Giovanni is launching her children’s clothing line, Candy Coated Kids, via her first charity fashion show, “Candy Coated in the Park” in benefit of Shriners Hospital for Children. Candy Coated Kids wear was founded two years ago by celebrity stylist and fashion designer, Giovanni Styles, along with “Candy Coated in the Park,” a high profile fashion event transforming Philadelphia’s Love Park into a fanciful kids’ wonderland. All proceeds from the charity fashion show will go to Shriners Hospital for Children, as well as raise awareness to how amazing the Shriners really are.

Giovanni is a creative and vivacious stylist that has her heart in fashion and her community. She understands why it’s important to give back because she too was in a similar situation with her younger brother when he fractured his spine. The comfort of the caring hospital staffed opened her eyes and heart to incorporating fashion and charity together.
Incorporating a Willy Wonka in the Chocolate Factory-esque theme topped off with kitty couture, and ever-lasting Gob stoppers, this all ages show combines a live runway with several performances and attractions, including a Candy Coated Wonderland Dance Performance, a RAW: natural born artists’ Artwalk, a Michael Jackson Tribute, along with a Special Live Performance followed by the Candy Coated Fashion Show Finale featuring celeb kids, Jihan Johnson (who is 5) and Nevaeh Zayaz, the sons of North Philly’s MC, Petee Crakk, formerly signed to Roc-a-Fella Records, known for his collaboration in Ne-yo’s hit single, “Stay.”

Candy Coated Kids wear is a hip clothing line for both boys and girls. G.Styles incorporates her unique approach to styling into the line by mixing different fabrics and creating candy embellished pieces. Candy Coated Kids Wear captures the limitless imagination of being a child who was born with style from casual to couture. As a managing partner for The Style Sorority, Giovanni Styles has made a name for herself in the few years she has been on the scene.

Candy Coated in the Park is honored to kick off its charity fashion show as a listed first time affiliate of “17… Days of Fashion,” a high fashion event created by the founding members and organizers of The Philadelphia Fashion Consortium (PFC,) which supports and celebrates Philadelphia’s endless talent in the fashion industry. 17…Days of Fashion will promote over 21 fashion shows taking place over 17 days. Each of the shows during this extravaganza will be produced by local Philadelphia fashion designers, models, industry pioneers, trendsetters, rising and aspiring newcomers; and industry stakeholders in the Delaware Valley.

Candy Coated in the Park will take place on August 19, 2011 at Love Park located on 1500 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA. Show starts at 6:30 pm Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.

Nice article! I’ve been hearing rumors that this event didn’t pay its vendors or Love Park, is this correct?
