North Carolina native Jazmin Truesdale, CEO of Mino Enterprises and the creator of AZA Comics, featuring diverse female superheroes. Additionally, Truesdale found illustrator Romero Colston, the two developed their first AZA Comics project, Keepers: Origins, released in 2016. Their goal at AZA Comics is to be as gender and ethnic inclusive as possible, thus reflecting an ever-changing and expanding society.

On the goals of her company, Truesdale said this:

“Everyone deserves to see themselves represented in the superhero genre.  We are fast becoming a global culture in which all ethnicities, languages, and nationalities are being embraced by the average individual and it is time that our entertainment reflects that.  Despite the lack of cultural diversity, I think that it is a shame that there are so few female superheroes even though women have always been the most marketable in any realm of entertainment.  I plan to change that.”

——–Jazmin Truesdale, CEO

In conclusion, Truesdale is a nerd at heart and a fan of science fiction, action movies, comics, and others like them. Thus it was her love for female superheroes that was the prime drive that led to her creating AZA Comics.
