Shea Couleé Will Star In Disney+ Series ‘Ironheart’

Congrats, Shea Couleé! We are so excited to welcome you to the MCU!

Congratulations are in order to a true diva!

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Shea Couleé, finalist, icon and star of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7, has just been added as a regular cast member to the upcoming ‘Ironheart’ miniseries on Disney+ No details have been released on what character she will play just yet. Ironheart is set to debut in late 2023 with Dominique Thorne starring as Riri Williams /Ironheart.

If you think this is Couleé’s time working for Marvel, you are sadly mistaken. In the winter of 2018, Couleé appeared in the Iceman comics series. Couleé played the character Darkveil/Darnell Wade who was inspired by Couleé’s drag performance art.

Here’s what creator Sina Grace had to say about Couleé as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

“Darkveil (formerly Shade) was inspired by so many drag queens, but I’ve kinda been officially quoted as saying that Shea Couleé, Dax Exclamation PointThe Vixen, and Monét X Change were my main go-tos,” creator Sina Grace previously told Drag Race production company World of Wonder in an interview. “Honestly, I just wondered what my sister’s friend, Jomar, would look like as a superhero, cuz he was the first ‘gay person’ I’d really gotten to know as a kid, and had the body of a man who wasn’t ‘fit,’ wasn’t ‘fat,’ which I felt was super important to put on the page. Like, I loves me some Naomi Smalls, but I wanted a full-bodied queen. I designed the outfit thinking, ‘What kind of iconic [looks] would she serve at an X-Men-sponsored event? Pouches, X-belts galore!'”

What character do you believe Shea Couleé will play? Whatever it is, it sure will be legendary.
