First Lady Michelle Obama and President Obama will be opening Anna Wintour’s Costume Center

How cool is this? The First Lady and Ms. Vogue herself, Anna Wintour will be unveiling the new costume exhibit at the Met Museum. For those that are new in the fashion world, the Met is the Mecca of fashion history and legendary designers works. One of my all-time favorite is Alexander McQueen’s “Savage Beauty”.

GRAND OPENING: On May 5, Michelle Obama will officially open the Costume Institute’s new Anna Wintour Costume Center. The First Lady is set to cut the ribbon for it at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The event will take place on the morning of the annual Costume Institute gala, and Obama will also speak at the ceremony.

It was unclear at press time if the First Lady is also attending the gala, which celebrates the “Charles James: Beyond Fashion” exhibition.
