TheRoot.com held an event on Thursday, Nov. 6th to recognize the achievements and efforts of Black people in America.  100 unique individuals were honored by the black-owned online media website for their abilities to create social media recognition to aid in their causes.

Nominee’s included CNN’s Van Jones, Ballet Dancer Misty Copeland, Author Janet Mock,  Queen Latifah, Tamron Hall,  Executive director of the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for African Americans David Johns and a host of talented and dedicated individuals who are committed to justice, education, the arts and equality.

I kept it simple; I wore a black wrap dress from Asos and my eyebrows were groomed with the Paula Dorf 2 and 1 eyebrow kit.  My shoes were from Lane Bryant and my accessories were from H & M.

The gift bag was pretty dope too, it included:
Johnson and Johnson Baby oil gel
Infiniti Wine Cork
An upgraded Amtrak first class ticket
Shea Moisture Anti Aging Cream
A shot glass
Rich Pure Luxury Argan De-Frizz & Shine Mist.
